As a community-based hospice, we rely on the generosity of our donors to help provide the services that set us apart from other hospice organizations. We are fortunate to have many community organizations and companies support us through events and sponsorships.
Rossmoor Art & Wine
The Friends of Hospice Rossmoor produced the 3rd Annual Art & Wine in October. Thanks to the fine selection of wine, appetizers and art, the event brought in over $30,000! We would like to thank the wonderful artists that donated a portion of their proceeds to Hospice East Bay, all the wonderful volunteers that made this event successful, and Stan and Ann Gedeon of the Creekside Grill for providing the food and helping procure the vintners.
Sneakers & Paws Walk
Over 150 participants hit the path around Rossmoor Golf Course for the 4th annual Rossmoor Walk—newly minted as the Sneakers & Paws Walk for Hospice. Canine pals of every shape and size accompanied their owners as they strolled. With volunteers at every turn, a raffle of over 40 items and the sale of polo shirts, over $10,000 was raised, benefitting not only Hospice East Bay but also Rossmoor’s Respite Care Fund. Both Rossmoor Realty and A Better Choice Homecare were premier sponsors of this event. Hospice East Bay is grateful for the continued dedication and support of Friends of Hospice Rossmoor.
Nina McLemore Spring Encore
New York Designer Nina McLemore presented her Spring/Summer fashions on April 12 & 13 at the Orinda Country Club. This show marks the 3rd year that Nina has been on hand to give personalized consultations to the guests to ensure the outfit they purchased was perfect for them. Hospice East Bay received a generous portion of the sales. We are grateful to Diana Haas and Nina McLemore for their generosity, friendship and support.
Danville Women’s Club
Once again, the members of GFWC Danville Women’s Club put on an amazing spring fashion show and luncheon. Hospice East Bay Board Member Debora Masiel thanked club members for their years of loyal support and friendship. The event raised $4,000 for our patients and their families.
Friends of Hospice Orinda
On May 6, the Friends of Hospice Orinda hosted their annual luncheon to benefit Hospice East Bay. Susan Levitt, Vice President of Clinical Services and COO shared some patient and family stories with the group during the luncheon. The event raised $11,500 for our programs and services. We are truly fortunate to have The Friends of Hospice Orinda as long-time donors and partners.
1515 Golf Tournament
On August 15th, over 200 golfers played in the Friends & Family of 1515 Restaurant Lounge 9th Annual Golf Tournament. We received a check for $2,000 and are very grateful for the generosity and years of support of the Friends & Family of 1515 Restaurant Lounge and Cynthia Sandoval.
Run through History
On April 24, 130 participants crowded the starting line of the first ever Run through History at Mountain View Cemetery in Oakland. Ray Ortner, race organizer and sales manager of Mountain View Cemetery, orchestrated a challenging 5K race followed by a lively awards ceremony and live music. Forty enthusiastic Hospice East Bay volunteers directed racers through the meandering route, manned water stations and cheered on the runners, walkers and even a few pups. Nearly $4,000 was raised through this event and we are so grateful for the continued support of Piedmont Funeral Services and Mountain View Cemetery.
